Consault Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026
Last updated: 15 October 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") applies to the Consault Services and forms part of the Consault Terms of Use. It applies to everyone who accesses Consault, including organisation owners, members and people acting through an API or connected service.

Use good judgment. Do not use Consault to harm people, compromise systems, break the law or conceal material AI involvement.

1. Illegal activity and infringement

You may not use the Services to:

  • violate applicable law, regulation, court order or binding legal duty;
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality or other rights;
  • obtain, expose, sell or misuse personal, confidential or authentication data without authority;
  • facilitate trafficking, exploitation, child sexual abuse material or sexual content involving minors; or
  • create, distribute or promote content whose possession or distribution is unlawful.

2. Security abuse and harmful software

You may not:

  • access an account, device, repository, network, meeting or service without authorisation;
  • scan, probe, exploit or test a third party's security without clear permission;
  • deploy malware, ransomware, credential theft, destructive payloads or covert persistence;
  • disrupt services through denial-of-service activity, resource exhaustion or coordinated abuse;
  • bypass authentication, safety controls, approvals, rate limits, billing or technical restrictions; or
  • use Consault to conceal the source of attacks or evade detection.

Authorised defensive security work is permitted when you own the target or have documented permission and use safeguards appropriate to the scope.

3. Fraud, deception and impersonation

You may not use Consault to:

  • defraud, scam or materially deceive another person;
  • impersonate a real person or organisation without permission;
  • conceal AI involvement where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent deception;
  • fabricate evidence, identity documents, endorsements or business records for deceptive use; or
  • manipulate reviews, engagement, elections or public processes through coordinated inauthentic activity.

4. Calls, meetings, voices and likenesses

You must disclose an AI assistant's participation in a call or meeting and obtain all legally required permissions for audio processing, transcription, recording and automated responses.

You may not:

  • secretly record or transcribe a person where consent is required;
  • clone, imitate or use a person's voice, face or likeness without the necessary authority;
  • use synthetic media to deceive, harass, defame, exploit or cause material harm;
  • make automated calls or messages in breach of telemarketing, communications or anti-spam rules; or
  • present an assistant as human when that misrepresentation could materially affect another person's decision.

5. Harassment and dangerous content

You may not use the Services to threaten, stalk, harass or target people with abuse. You may not use Consault to provide instructions intended to cause serious physical harm or to facilitate violent wrongdoing.

Consault may support lawful discussion, research, prevention and safety work about sensitive topics when the context and safeguards are appropriate.

6. High-impact decisions

Do not use Consault as the sole decision-maker for a person's eligibility, access or treatment in employment, housing, education, credit, insurance, healthcare, legal services, essential public services or another similarly high-impact area.

Qualified people must review relevant facts, give affected people appropriate notice and recourse, and comply with applicable fairness, privacy and anti-discrimination rules.

7. Spam and platform manipulation

You may not:

  • send bulk or repeated communications without the recipients' permission or another lawful basis;
  • use misleading sender identities, subject lines or calls to action;
  • scrape or harvest personal data contrary to law or a service's terms;
  • create accounts or traffic to evade restrictions or manipulate platform metrics; or
  • publish content through connected accounts without the account owner's authority.

8. Customer apps and live operations

If Consault builds or operates an app for you, you remain responsible for the app's lawful operation. You must maintain appropriate privacy information, customer support, moderation, permissions, backups and security controls for the app's purpose.

You may not instruct an operations agent to issue unauthorised refunds, alter records deceptively, hide incidents, misuse customer data or take actions beyond your authority.

9. Resource and service abuse

You may not use the Services in a way that unreasonably degrades them for others, including unauthorised cryptomining, resale of shared infrastructure, excessive automated account creation or workloads intended mainly to consume capacity rather than complete legitimate work.

10. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and preserve relevant evidence. Depending on the seriousness and context, we may warn you, require a change, restrict an action, remove content, suspend access, terminate an account or report conduct where legally required.

We consider the nature of the conduct, actual and potential harm, intent, history and willingness to remedy the issue. We may act immediately when delay could expose people, systems or Consault to material harm.

Report suspected abuse with the abuse form, which anyone can use without an account, or to [email protected].
